This book is from the same series as My First Greek Myths: The Twelve Olympian Gods. It selects a few key moments from the mythic cycle and presents them with simple rhyming couplets and visually appealing illustrations. My favorite is the sacrifice of Iphigenia, which is not something that I ever expected to write about a board book for toddlers. Once again, Gkoutzouri makes excellent use of sturdy embedded sliding features to make the book extra engaging to listeners who are better with their hands than their words. On the cover, there’s a slide that raises a little door in the horse to show googly-eyes staring out from within. Kids will love it, and they’ll like it even more once they are old enough to follow the story. This book is a must have for new parents who are also classics nerds. – Krishni Burns
